Clearly Productive: Massey Ferguson Tractors’ VisioRoof

Two new options from Massey Ferguson promise to help make loader tractors more productive, as well as enhance safety and comfort.

Improving visibility and productivity, the see-through VisioRoof option is now available on all Massey Ferguson Global Series tractors. That includes 4700, 5700 and 6700 Series models, as well as the MF5700SL Series, which first introduced the option.

VisioRoof

According to Taylor Ergle, AGCO marketing product specialist, tractors, the VisioRoof incorporates a glass panel that extends into the cab roof to increase operator visibility. Such a feature is especially useful when the loader is in the raised position. For even greater safety and comfort, the VisioRoof includes a sun screen that keeps the operator shaded when additional visibility is not needed, as well as a falling-object-protection system that protects both the glass and the operator from any falling debris.

In addition to the VisioRoof, says Ergle, “We’ve also introduced a new line of MF FL Series front-end loaders that are stronger, simpler, smoother and smarter than the previous 900 Series loaders … as well as those offered by the competition.”

The new FL Series includes six mechanical, self-leveling models for tractors ranging from the Massey Ferguson 4700 Series through the 8700 Series. In addition, the FL Series includes four models of non-self-leveling loaders that are compatible with Massey Ferguson tractors ranging from the 4700 to 6700S Series.

A new, innovative design on the FL Series loaders has helped increase durability and visibility, while reducing weight. Hydraulic efficiency has been improved, too, with larger-diameter hoses, larger connectors and new cylinder design. “The improvements made in hydraulic efficiency,” says Ergle, “also allow a 100% increase in the effectiveness of the SoftDrive suspension system for smoother operation.”

What’s more, the loaders include a new Clic-On implement attachment system that offers a tilting angle to 180 degrees for an enhanced bucket tipping range. Meanwhile, it retains the innovative Lock & Go loader attachment system, which reduces connection and disconnection time.

Making the FL Series even more productive are what Ergle refers to as its “smarter” components, specifically a completely new and innovative weighing system option that can be factory- or field-installed. Marketed as the FL Companion, the system allows the operator to measure the weight of each load in real time. That information is then displayed on a screen in the cab, along with the position of the loader. Additional functions also are available to facilitate data export via USB, measuring total loaded weight, service reminders and more.

“The benefit for the operator is an increase in efficiency in applications, such as loading a feeder wagon or loading bales on a truck,” Ergle explains. “In effect, the operator will be able to precisely measure the amount of material being loaded, saving both time and fuel.”
