The Massey Ferguson® 2700E Series
Once again, with its new 2700E Series, Massey Ferguson® proves all tractors are not created equal.

“Light utility tractors from other brands cannot match the performance of the new 2700E, its ease of use and maintenance, and its versatility,” says Warren Morris, strategic marketing manager at AGCO. “Whether bringing in hay, cleaning a barn or doing general land maintenance, the two tractors in this new series will not just be handy, but absolutely indispensable.”
The 2700E Series
The 2700E Series features two models: the 2705E at 48.8 engine HP (36.4) and 2706E at 57.3 engine HP (42.7). Each offers a standard 8×8 Synchro-Shuttle transmission or an optional three-range hydrostat. “Both models,” says Morris, “have an excellent power-to-weight ratio, and the wheels are adjustable for greater safety, stability and versatility. With a new, easy-to-read control panel, suspended seat and flat-floored platform, comfort and ergonomics will also help on those long days on the tractor.”
At 11.5 gallons (43.8 liters) per minute, “the 2700E tractors also have a higher hydraulic flow rate than comparable models, allowing for greater speed in loader work and tasks using other implements,” Morris says. “The 3-point lift on these tractors also beats most competitive models, with a capacity of 2,425 pounds [1,100 kg].” Additionally, the 2700E Series will be available with the L135E loader and CB85 backhoe, which are common to other Massey Ferguson models and therefore add to even greater versatility and efficiency.
“The 2700E tractors also come at an economical price, but,” Morris says, “that doesn’t mean they are cheaply made. Not at all, and to back that up, the 2700E Series comes with a five-year powertrain warranty. That’s one of the best offerings in farm equipment,” he notes.
Adding to that economy, the new 2700E models feature a maintenance-free emission system, with no need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). “Those filters and their maintenance aren’t cheap,” says Morris. “New filters can cost up to $2,000 to replace. Even cleaning them can cost as much as $1,500, depending upon the size and tractor model.” Instead, the new 2700E tractors are equipped with an external cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, high-pressure common-rail fuel injection (HPCR) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) that is designed to last for the life of the tractor.
“And these tractors will have long, productive lives,” says Morris. “They are built to last and work efficiently all along the way. Each tractor will save its owner time and money for years to come, allow them to stay in the field longer comfortably and be a pleasure to operate.”
